Breaking News: Nick Diaz stopped at the door - He will not compete in the Worlds

U.F.C. organization used their contract privileges to stop Nick Diaz from competing in the Worlds 2011. Nick is in negotiations to fight against Georges Saint Pierre and the organization blocked Nick from competing. His brother Nate however is competing in the brown belt division according to his coach and top competitor Caio Terra.

It is highly understandable for UFC to protect their interests and at the same time super commendable for the Diaz brothers to want to compete in their sport's biggest event. Big ups to all!

Now go train Jiu-Jitsu,

  1. How is keeping him out protecting the UFC's interests? What, in case someone snaps one of his limbs? in case he doesn't win it all?

  2. Protects their interests in case he gets injured and can't fight on the next event he is scheduled to fight

  4. It's a very low risk venture. He has the same odds of getting hurt in a triathlon, and even more so in boxing. Fighters get hurt all the time, esp after their bout contracts are signed. I don't think it's right to keep him from competing in a major event / low risk activity like the BJJ Worlds. Bummed :(
